Drug Decriminalization in Portugal

The above image is from drugpolicy.org the drug policy alliance.

Decriminalization is not Legalization

Decriminalization should be approached carefully & methodically than monitored for therapeutic outcomes and other measures in each state.

It should entail the collaborative involvement of various organizations, such as organizations that address the following:

  • A vast increase & easy affordable access to Substance Use Disorder & Mental Health Treatment, ie. availability of treatment through a well-trained Health Care Professional, such as your primary care physician who has undergone additional training for Substance Use Disorder.

  • Increase in health & drug education

  • Access to learning harm reduction techniques & access to life-saving naloxone

  • Family coaching that entails a loving approach that encourages connection and healthy relationship building

  • Increased & affordable access to mental health

  • Prevention of Drug Misuse through honest drug & health education.
